Welcome to the Junior Sub-School (Years 7 – 9 ) Web Page.

Our focus is on the wellbeing of each individual student through their learning journey. As a team we ensure that all students are safe, have equitable access to all facilities and are able to fully participate in the range of educational opportunities that are on offer.

The curriculum structure in Years Seven and Eight is based on Learning Teams for English, Mathematics and Humanities. These classes are held in the Learning Centre. All the other subjects are being taught in specialist class rooms. At Year Nine, students study English, Mathematics, SOSE and Science as core subjects. The other subjects are electives and students choose these based on their interest.

The Junior Sub-School promotes student leadership through a process of application writing and selection for Junior School Captains and Home Group Captains. The SRC conducts a rigorous election process to elect student representatives to the council.

To promote healthy and positive relationships, students engage themselves in inter-form competitions and a variety of lunch time activities.

Our philosophy in Teaching and Learning is relationship building. Classroom behaviour management is addressed through Restorative Justice Practices with a strong emphasis on respect for the individual, the environment and the learning community. We promote a culture of excellence and wellbeing, by ensuring that students achieve to their full potential.
