I have mentioned in several Newsletters during the year that as part of the Education Department’s accountability processes, Hampton Park Secondary College is this year undertaking a comprehensive review of our operations in preparation for determining our Strategic Plan, which will assist us in identifying the key directions for the College over the next four years. As a part of this ‘year in review’, the Education Department appointed an independent person to oversee our review and to prepare a report to guide the College in preparing our next Strategic Plan. This review was delivered to both the staff and to the College Council on Tuesday of this week. While the review has certainly identified several challenges for the College in meeting the needs of our students, it equally has provided a solid foundation for the College to move forward in ways that will create a community of learners all working toward the improvement in the outcomes achieved by our students.

I am now very much looking forward to working with the staff to establish the conditions in which the expectations established in the review are able to be delivered upon.
